In case you didn't notice, it was dark when the door was finally in and ready for picture-taking. I might take some more in the daylight tomorrow so that you can actually SEE it.

Snow day in Seattle

Today it snowed. CJ was out of his mind with excitement. We walked to the nearby elementary school to get our tree, played in the snow, and decorated. It was a VERY fun day!

And then the video game exploded

I USED to think that video games made you fat.

Then I met the Wii.



CJ kept this up for TWO HOURS. He was dripping with sweat by the end.

And the other guy? He gets knocked out EVERY TIME. I seriously don't think the video game knows what to do with CJ's energy level.

No WONDER I'm so tired at the end of the day!

In other news, all the siding is ON the house.

Yippee!

Oh, you thought that meant we were done?

We are SO not done.

But we're closer, and that's something!

Pumpkins!

Jason went with CJ and his preschool today to a field trip to a nearby pumpkin patch.

They saw lots of animals...




and a WHOLE bunch of pumpkins...

They got to ride on a hay ride and pretend to drive a tractor...



They got lost (and found!) in a MAZE...



AND (Best of all)

They got to see the PUMPKIN CANNON! (truly thrilling)



Even better, the day was CLEAR! The sun was SHINING! What more can you ask from a Fall day at the farm?

A bad day for not having gutters...

We've had a big storm making its presence felt here with hail, high-speed winds, and a whole lot of rain. All without gutters on the house.

Ack!



CJ refers to the hail as "hay", which makes for hours of amusement!

House update

Jay and Jordan finished siding the back of the house this weekend. Now most of the siding is up, and the primary work that's left is caulking and painting trim.

All we do around here is WORK!

Meanwhile, Jenny's vacuuming...

How to make chocolate chip muffins

Grandpa Ed makes the best chocolate chip muffins. They're CJ's FAVORITE... when grandpa's chocolate chip muffins are in the house, that's all that CJ eats, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Fortunately, CJ knows just how to make them...
